Student Tax Advice

Students in the UK are liable to pay income tax and National Insurance contributions on their earnings just like everyone else.

The student tax advice campaign and tax refund calculator have been created to help answer some of the most frequently asked questions about tax, and to show students if they may be eligible for a tax refund. It has been developed by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), working with the National Union of Students (NUS).
